Ransomware halts production at Coca-Cola's Fairlife dairy business

· 2 min read · By Nath Connell

Coca-Cola disclosed that a ransomware attack on its Fairlife dairy subsidiary disrupted operations badly enough to temporarily suspend production of Fairlife products across the United States.

It's a reminder that ransomware doesn't need to touch your personal data to affect you directly. A disrupted supply chain shows up as empty shelves and stalled orders well before anyone confirms what data, if any, was stolen.

Why this matters: this is a corporate operations story more than a consumer data story for now. Worth watching for a follow-up disclosure on whether customer or employee data was also affected.
