Tool of the Week: the Claude Agent SDK for building real agents
This week's tool is for the builders. The Claude Agent SDK is a TypeScript and Python toolkit for building your own AI agents: ones that can call tools, connect to Model Context Protocol servers, and spawn sub agents to divide up work.
What it does, plainly: it gives you the scaffolding to wire an assistant into your actual systems, rather than copy pasting prompts into a chat window. If you have hit the ceiling of what a chatbot can do and want something that takes real actions across your stack, this is one of the cleanest on ramps available.
Who it is actually for: developers and technical teams who are comfortable in a codebase. If that is you, or you work closely with someone who is, the SDK removes a lot of the plumbing you would otherwise build yourself.
Honest caveat: this is a developer tool, full stop. If you do not write code, start with a no code agent builder instead and come back when you outgrow it. There is also no affiliate programme here, so we earn nothing from recommending it. We are suggesting it because it is good.
