Google's Pixel 11 line lands with Tensor G6, the first 2nm phone chip

Google took the wraps off the Pixel 11 family on 12 August 2026, and the headline spec is not a camera number or a screen size, it is the manufacturing node. The Tensor G6 chip inside all four phones is the first smartphone chip built on TSMC's 2nm N2 process, and Google says it delivers a 25 percent jump in web browsing performance and 15 percent faster app launches over the Tensor G5.

The lineup: Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. All four share the same Tensor G6 silicon, more TPU compute for on-device AI, an upgraded image signal processor, and a new Titan M3 security chip. Every model now starts at 256GB of storage, up from the 128GB base Google shipped on the Pixel 10.

Pricing

In the US, the Pixel 11 starts at 899 dollars, the Pixel 11 Pro is 1,099 dollars for the 12GB/256GB version or 1,219 dollars for 16GB/512GB, the Pro XL starts at 1,299 dollars, and the Pro Fold opens at 1,899 dollars. UK and EU pricing had not been confirmed at time of writing, so expect the usual currency markup rather than a straight dollar to pound swap. Pre-orders are open now, with general availability from 20 August 2026.

The camera system gets a new addition too, a Pixel Glow LED on the back, alongside the computational photography work Google leans on every generation.

Why it matters

2nm silicon in a phone shipping this month, while most of the industry is still bringing 3nm parts to market, is a genuine lead. Whether that translates into a phone worth the price jump is a separate question, and one that needs proper benchmarking to answer. What is clear is that Google has stopped positioning Tensor as good enough but with better AI. It is trying to win on raw process node too.
