Having Taiwanese manufacturing expertise deployed on American soil serves multiple policy interests simultaneously: it builds domestic manufacturing capacity, maintains the relationships with experienced contract manufacturers that US tech companies depend on, and reduces the concentration of advanced manufacturing in locations considered strategically vulnerable.

For NVIDIA, having a domestic manufacturing partner for its AI systems strengthens its position in US government and enterprise markets that have domestic content requirements. It also provides some insurance against supply chain disruptions, whether from geopolitical events, natural disasters, or logistical bottlenecks.
